Sure, they have such a complicated rule settings ( and so many editions and game settings AND universes thats its impossible to know them all ). Anyhow, they are complicated because they were originally tabletop games, and therefore you needed rules and such to have game. After digitalization of gaming ( in 1990's mostly ), it came possible to play these games without much knowledge about background functions. Thats why easy to play console games are so popular, you can just start the game and play. You dont need to know anything . About your comment, witcher I have heard about, spellforce I havent heard but heroes, thats the strategy game right? They were big in late 1990's, I played the living lights out of them back them, good for hotseat with friends also.
